Celebrating the Women of Comex 2000

Earlier this month, Comex 2000 recognised Women in Construction Week and International Women’s Day by celebrating the contributions and achievements of women across the organisation.

Throughout the week, colleagues shared insights and stories highlighting the wide range of roles women play within the business. These included perspectives from Barbara, Head of SSHEQ, Samantha, Operational Programme Manager, and Ellie, a field-based Cable Operative – each offering a valuable glimpse into the skills, dedication and pride that help drive Comex 2000 forward.

Reflecting on the week, HR Director Indy Johal shared a message of appreciation for female colleagues across the organisation.

“As we recognised Women in Construction Week and International Women’s Day, I wanted to personally thank the incredible women across our organisation for the impact you make every day.

The insights shared by Barbara, Samantha and Ellie were a powerful reminder of the talent, resilience and pride within our female workforce. Their stories highlighted the diverse skills that keep our business moving forward – from SSHEQ and programme delivery to coordination, operations and team support.

What stands out most is not just the work you do, but the passion and professionalism you bring to it. You help shape who we are today and the organisation we aspire to be.

To all our female colleagues: please continue sharing your voice, your ideas and your ambitions. Together we will keep building an environment where women feel supported to grow, lead and thrive.

Thank you for everything you contribute. We are proud to celebrate you.” Indy Johal, HR Director, Comex 2000

A Commitment to Continued Progress

While the week provided a moment to reflect and celebrate, Comex 2000’s commitment to inclusion continues year-round.

The business remains focused on:

  • Expanding pathways for women to enter and progress within technical and operational roles
  • Creating a workplace where everyone feels confident, supported and valued
  • Strengthening the leadership pipeline, with women currently holding 17 leadership roles, including Senior Leadership Team positions
  • Building a culture of inclusion where diverse voices are heard, respected and empowered

Progress in this area is ongoing and relies on continued collaboration across the organisation.

Recognising International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day, which took place on 8 March, is a global opportunity to recognise the achievements and impact of women around the world.

Beyond the workplace, the day also highlights the many ways women positively influence families, communities and society. Through leadership, compassion, resilience and emotional intelligence, women help support and guide those around them – from colleagues and friends to families and communities.

These contributions, both visible and unseen, continue to shape stronger workplaces and societies.

Thank You!

To all the women of Comex 2000 – thank you.

Your skill, dedication, leadership, resilience and unique perspectives continue to strengthen our organisation and inspire those around you.

We would also like to thank everyone who took the time to read, share and engage with the stories throughout the week. Your support plays an important role in helping to create a more inclusive Comex 2000.

Looking Forward

Here’s to continued progress.
Here’s to inclusion.
Here’s to women in telecoms and construction – today and every day.
